18 hour sail to Bahia Chemela. We left late afternoon to pass Cabo Corrientes at night. It can be uncomfortable do to the winds and currents swerling arount the cape. Kind of like Point Conception back home. It was a little bumpy but not to bad. Had some wind to fill the sails for the first half of the trip and a great sunset on our way out of Banderas Bay.

We arrived in The sleepy town of Perula at the north end of Bahia Chumela at first light. We were the only boat in the anchorage. A nice change from the Haha and the La Cruz Marina. We anchored right off the beach. Pulapas line the beach for a 1/4 mile then the beach winds around the bay for miles. At the south end of the bay are a group of small islands that are part of the National Park system. We plan on checking them out during our stay.
As soon as we got the anchor set we wanted to get in the water. I set up the rope swing off the spinnaker pole and had some fun. The water is 85 degrees so you could float out there for hours.
Next we put the dinghy in the water and headed to shore. We really like this Takacat dingy. Its a light weight(i can lift and launch it myself). And it stores down below in a couple of 35 or 40 lb. duffles to keep it off the deck.We have a 20 year old Tohatsu 8 hp 2-cycle outboard and we can get up to a plane with the three of us aboard, which is really nice when you’re traveling a long ways.
