Huatulco to Chiapas

This was the dreaded crossing of the Gulf of Tehuantepec. Gale force winds rage for days or weeks interrupted by a short break, usually just long enough to dart across the Gulf. We’d waited for a weather window on Predict Wind and confirmed with Commanders Weather, a weather routing service. The planning worked a little too well as we only had 6 hours of sailing before the wind disappeared. The rest of the crossing was flat calm motoring. The entry to Marina Chiapas is well marked though the channel from the fuel dock to the marina and reminded me of the Tenacatita jungle trip.

Rays welcomed us into the marina along with the staff who helped us tie up.
The Port Captain, immigration and the Navy came to the boat do the check-in which saved us from having to run around looking for them.
Syd made friends with a couple of kid boats. These two sailed here from Poland.
